About The Event

ServiceSource Delaware and the DEBLN invite you to join us for a special new workshop focused on our hometown heroes. Designed to provide information on specific strategies for supporting veterans with disabilities in the workplace, attendees will gain a better understanding of:

  • Differences between military and business culture
  • Common workplace barriers faced by veterans with disabilities
  • Some of the most common disabilities experienced by veterans
  • ideas on the best ways to accommodate these disabilities
  • Creating the most welcoming workplace possible
  • Creating the most welcoming workplace possible

Presenters:

TranCen, Inc (TCI) is a nonprofit corporation established in 1986 with a mission of improving education and employment success for youth and adults with disabilities. TCI is driven by the belief that active community participation and work are attainable by all individuals regardless of disability or other perceived barriers. Headquartered just outside Washington, DC, TCI provides technical assistance and training to professionals throughout the country.

Steve Zapalla is a retired Army combat veteran who became a clinical psychotherapist and pastoral counselor after 20+ years of active duty. Steve held a wide variety of senior level leadership positions in both tactical and strategic level major commands throughout his career, both oversees and nationally. His transition from military to civilian life led him to a deep appreciation for his spiritual practice and a career as a meditation teacher and mental health counselor.
